Rick Byrens

Senior Vice President and General Manager

Mr. Byrens joined Alliance Spacesystems, LLC in 2007 following MDA Space Structures’ acquisition of the Company, where he currently serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager, overseeing all facets of the business with a clear focus on customer satisfaction and product quality. Mr. Byrens joined MDA as  a Business Development Manager in 2006, where he oversaw growth in the business unit from $4.5 million in 2006 to $28 million in 2011. Prior to joining MDA, Mr. Byrens spent 8 years as Business Development Manager at ATK Corona / Programmed Composites, Inc. from 1999 through 2006, spent 3 years as General Manager at Intec Composites, and was also General Manager of Hexcel’s Satellite Products Business Unit from 1997 through 1999. Mr. Byrens holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.

Allan Ark

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Ark joined Alliance Spacesystems, LLC in 2014, where he currently serves as the Vice President of Operations, overseeing Manufacturing and Program Operations, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Facilities.  Mr. Ark joined the company as a Program Manager and has progressed through various leadership roles as Director of Corporate Development and Director of Programs.  Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Ark spent several years as a technology strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, defining DoD technology roadmaps & acquisition policy for space & airborne communications system and a payload systems engineer for Boeing’s Satellite Development Center. Mr. Ark holds a BSEE from Virginia Tech and an MBA from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Dave Kwan

Director of Contracts & Supply Chain

Mr. Kwan joined Alliance Spacesystems, LLC in 2008, where he currently serves as Director of Contracts & Supply Chain overseeing Contracts, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Material Planning and Coordination. Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Kwan spent several years at ATK / Programmed Composites, Inc, where he worked as the Product Line Director and Program Manager on over 45 successful A2100 Bus Structures for Lockheed Martin.  The Structures included a variety of commercial programs along with key Military Programs such as SBIRS, AEHF, and MUOS.  As Program Manager, Mr. Kwan was responsible for providing the key programmatic/technical/contractual interface to the customer, along with meeting customer expectations of schedule and quality. Mr. Kwan holds a BSME from California State University Fullerton.

Mike Mastroianni

Director of Operations

Mr. Mastroianni joined Alliance Spacesystems, LLC in 2018, where he currently serves as the Director of Operations overseeing Master Scheduling, Production Control, Capacity Management, Manufacturing and Facilities.  Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Mastroianni spent several years at the Goodrich Corporation in a variety of manufacturing and R&D engineering roles focused on cost reduction, United Technologies Aerospace Systems managing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner composite nacelle component fabrication, and Rubbercraft Corporation overseeing elastomeric seal and gasket production and the implementation of a continuous improvement program. Mr. Mastroianni holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from the Paul Mirage School of Business at UC Irvine.

Dale Neverman

Director of Programs

Mr. Neverman joined Alliance Spacesystems, LLC in 2016 following the Company’s acquisition of Vanguard Space Technologies, where he currently serves as the Director of Programs overseeing Program Management, Production Engineering, and Structural and Environmental Testing. Dale joined Vanguard as a Program Manager in 2007.  Prior to joining Vanguard, Dale spent 10 years as a program manager with Programmed Composites, Inc./ATK, managing build to spec and build to print programs for space applications, and 8 years at Kaiser Aerospace managing composite product programs for aerospace applications. Mr. Neverman holds a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.

Joe Ramos

Director of Business Development

Mr. Joe Ramos joined Alliance Spacesystems in 2016 where he currently leads Alliance Spacesystems pursuit of space composite structures business with existing customers as well as those in emerging new space markets.  Prior to joining Alliance, Joe was Business Development Director for Orbital ATK Space Components Division (San Diego, CA) from 2002 to 2015 where he led the company’s pursuits of composite bus structure, antenna reflector, and solar array substrate business with domestic and international customers.  From 2000 to 2002, Joe was senior director of Global Convergence Technology (GCT) where he was responsible for the expansion of GCT’s two-way broadband internet service via Ka-band satellite from Korea into other Asia-Pacific markets.  From 1989 to 2000, Joe worked for Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Operations as Program Manager and later as Director for Latin America Business Development for Lockheed Martin Commercial Satellite Systems.  Joe has a BSEE from UC Santa Barbara.

Joe Colombo

Director of Quality and Reliability

Mr. Colombo joined Alliance Spacesystems in 2019, where he currently serves as the Director of Quality and Reliability responsible for Alliance’s Quality Management System (AS9100 Rev. D), NADCAP accreditation, and leading the Alliance quality team. Joe is a military veteran with 25 years of progressive experience and leadership across aerospace and automotive industries. Prior to joining Alliance, Joe spent 8 years with Honeywell Aerospace as a Sr. Regional Field Quality Manager responsible for supplier quality performance for the western region of the United States and Mexico.  Joe has extensive Lean Six Sigma and Toyota Production System (TPS) background and was a certified TPS instructor for Toyota Motor Corporation. Joe served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer leading teams in maintaining AH-1W Cobras, UH-1N Hueys, and Pioneer Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.  Joe holds a B.A. from Hofstra University.

Teri Morales

Human Resources Manager

Teri Morales joined Alliance Spacesystems in 2018, where she currently serves as the Manager of Human Resources overseeing recruitment, hiring, salary, performance management, employee relations, and administration of health, welfare and retirement benefits.  She has worked the majority of her career fulfilling HR roles within manufacturing industry with Armstrong Flooring, BAE Systems Composite Structures, and MK Diamond Products, Inc.  Teri holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach and an MBA from BIOLA University.
